Kutil Tim TV Series 1991 1999 Full Cast & Crew

Like several other stars on the show, "Home Improvement" was a launching pad for Dunning, who took on several other television guest roles while she was starring on the ABC sitcom. This also meant walking away from "Home Improvement" before its final season, which led to a rift with his on-screen parents, according to the New York Post. As he voiced Buzz Lightyear in every Toy Story film, he led the Santa Clause film trilogy and starred in hit movies including Galaxy Quest, Christmas with the Kranks, Wild Hogs and Ralph Breaks the Internet.

In early seasons, Wilson was always seen standing on the other side of Tim's backyard fence as the two engaged in conversation, usually with Wilson offering sage advice as Tim grappled with his problems. In later seasons, a running joke developed in which more and more creative means were used to prevent Wilson's face below the eyes from ever being seen by the audience. Also, in later seasons, Wilson's full name was revealed to be Wilson W. Wilson, Jr. Of the three boys on the show, Thomas perhaps shot to superstardom the fastest.

On that occasion, Randy felt that so much had changed in his absence that he no longer fit in with the family, although confiding in Wilson aided his feelings. A close second is Jill, who only missed the second part of the series finale . Wilson W. Wilson is the man behind the fence, and the best Halloween costume ever.

As mentioned above, the first pilot was produced in April 1991, with Frances Fisher playing Jill Taylor. Fisher, primarily known as a dramatic actress, was well qualified for the co-starring role but was viewed by the studio audience as not being comedic enough, and too serious in her line delivery. The producers tried to work with Fisher on adapting to the situation comedy setting, but shortly after the pilot wrapped post-production, they decided to recast her.

Patricia Richardson: Then

She most recently guest starred on a 2019 episode of NBC's "Blindspot." The seemingly single star has three grown kiddos from her marriage to Ray Baker, which ended in 1995. Heidi Keppert – The second "Tool Girl" (beginning in season 3, series regular in seasons 7–8) and a master electrician. Initially, the character was seen only in and around the Tool Time set. In later seasons, her personal life increasingly crossed paths with Tim and Al.

In the episode, "Fifth Anniversary", it is revealed that a big reason why Al was chosen to be Tim's assistant was because Al was the only assistant applicant that was willing to work for the salary that was offered. Despite the bad blood between Allen and Thomas, it was apparently put behind them by 2013 when Thomas was a guest star on the first of four episodes of Allen's show "Last Man Standing," in addition todirecting three episodes. Don't take this as the sign of a comeback, though — Thomas has once again receded from the public eye, being photographed for the first time in years in 2021. While some of the actors from "Home Improvement" have gone on to star in other television shows and movies, others left the spotlight after the series ended.

She died from a heart attack near the end of the series after Al asked her permission to marry Trudy. Al was engaged to an orthodontist named Ilene for a time, but they ended up calling off the wedding. Al might have been based on Norm Abram of This Old House because of the resemblance (flannel shirts, beard, portly, etc.) and the fact that Al does all the "real work" on the Tool Time show . In 2011, Allen started filming "Last Man Standing" where he plays a father who attempts to maintain his manliness in a house filled with his wife and three daughters. After nine seasons — first on ABC and now on Fox — the show is set for its series finale in 2021.

Tim often ignores Al's advice and this frequently results in an accident. His Wilson was one of his final roles, being a longtime smoker, Hindman was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2003 and died that year at the age of 61. Jill Taylor is a great mom and is often seen as the voice of reason to her husband – even if that sometimes ends up in arguments. Originally, Frances Fisher was cast as Jill Taylor but while rehearsing the pilot, audiences reacted poorly, saying her Jill was too serious. She was replaced with Richardson four days before the pilot episode was taped. Before being cast as oldest son Brad on Home Improvement, Zachery Ty Bryan worked primarily in print and television advertising.

From movie and television roles to her charity work with the Pamela Anderson Foundation, Anderson has stayed quite busy over the years. Now, she's trying a few new things, including a 2022 Broadway debut in the musical "Chicago" and a Netflix deal to tell her life story. It's hard to remember a time when Tim Allen wasn't a household name in both movies and television, but when "Home Improvement" premiered in 1991, he wasn't well known outside of standup comedy. By the time "Home Improvement" went off the air in 1999, Allen had become a household name, thanks to the wildly popular television series, as well as his roles in family favorites like "The Santa Clause" and "Toy Story." Arguably the most famous name to come out of Home Improvement, the Playboy model and animal rights activist left the sitcom after two seasons to star in Baywatch, the show that put her on the map. Today, the 49-year-old actress is the proud mom of two sons with ex Tommy Lee, 20-year-old Brandon and 18-year-old Dylan; recently put out a photo book, Raw; and most recently appeared in the Argentinian film The People Garden.

During the show's final season, Brad and Mark became much closer due to Randy's absence. When Thomas came back, this time it was with more of a focus on producing and directing. He reunited with Tim Allen when he guest-starred in several episodes of Last Man Standing, and even directed a few episodes of the series. According to Patricia Richardson, Thomas and Zachery Ty Bryanhave recently written "a really wonderful pilot that is sort of R-rated and are shopping it around town." Pamela Anderson left "Home Improvement" to play a sexy lifeguard on "Baywatch" in 1992.

Parker in "Baywatch" in 1992, and when scheduling conflicts between the two shows became a problem, Anderson chose the more adult-oriented "Baywatch." The 63-year-old actor still does stand-up but has stayed firmly in the sitcom world. His current show, Last Man Standing, is entering its sixth season on ABC. He's also starred in a ton of movies, most famously in The Santa Clause franchise, 2007's Wild Hogs, and 1998's Galaxy Quest. Allen is also the voice of Buzz Lightyear in theToy Story movies, the fourth of which is set to hit theaters in 2018. In addition to being known for playing Al Borland, Karn is also recognized as the fourth host of Family Feud, a job he took on from 2002 to 2006.

Tim often garbles advice he heard from Wilson or otherwise makes ignorant remarks – although in one episode Tim stuns Jill and Wilson by putting forth sound advice of his own. Another running gag is Tim accidentally causing damage or destruction to anything he touches, such as destroying the world's smallest car or running over golf carts with a Marine Corps tank. He is also injured every year while working on the Christmas decorations. “Dual Time” Portrayed byTim AllenIn-universe informationAliasTim "The Tool Man" TaylorSpouseJill TaylorTimothy "Tim" Taylor – Tim Taylor is the father of the family.

Richard Karn wasn't the original choice for the role of Al Borland, either.

Jill is intelligent, practical, and has a dry sense of humor that doesn't often fly with her family. At the series beginning, she struggles to reenter the workforce after a long absence but soon lands a job at a local magazine. After being let go from the magazine and reassessing her career choices, Jill goes back to school to earn her master's degree in psychology.
